Randy speaks…

Hey y’all, this is Randy writing, so you should read this slower and grumpier…

Beki & I just got back to Denver a few days ago.  While it’s great to be back in Denver, it’s also weird to be in the same place for 6 days straight.  We have been on the road touring for the better part of six months.  In that time, we have reunited with many old friends, made lots of new friends, and have had a myriad of new experiences.  A few highlights include: getting to see a Texas Rangers game in a private box in Dallas, getting to pet a retired dogsled team in Michigan, and being a part of a team that built a house for a needy family in Juarez, Mexico.

During this tour, the large majority of our performances have been house concerts, and we have found that without a doubt, we really prefer doing house concerts.  They are more intimate, honest, and leave a lot of space to foster new friendships.  Our final concert on the tour was in a 100+ year old barn (somehow spotlessly clean) in Michigan, where we got to add a second set with a band, playing songs/versions we hadn’t been able to do in years and some fun covers (Wild Horses, You Wreck Me, Ways to Be Wicked, and Dreams to name a few). It was a great way to finish loud – our sincerest thanks to the Aaron, Preston, Mike, Phil and Becky for that gift.

We will be in Denver for another 5 weeks before we head to Ireland and a few other European countries for 4-5 months to work on writing a new record.  Before we’re overseas, we will be performing 2 house concerts in the Denver area.  We would love it if you are able to make one or both.  We have been in Denver for approximately 10.5 years and really love Denver.  However, to say our lives are in transition would be putting it mildly.  Because of this, things are very much up in the air as to where we will land after Ireland.  So, come out and see us if you can and share some fond memories…

  2. So glad to have met you both. We really enjoyed your music, and thank you, thank you for all the CDs. We had a little mini-concert the next day on our front porch! Best wishes with all your upcoming adventures.
