Our Hosts are the Most!
We have been on the road just over a month now, and despite some vocal frustrations, a few cancellations, and general weariness, we are sill going strong, largely propped up by the love, encouragement, and care of our hosts and the people we have met along the way.

My heart is so full of gratitude for favors big and small that have kept us going on what has been a challenging tour so far.
When my voice gave out, people understood and were kind and generous anyway. Someone from a vocal clinic in Pennsylvania gave generously of her time over the phone to advise me. Three sweet little words said to us: “for gas money” or maybe “keep the change.”

Special food prepared for my weird dietary restrictions, or a great dinner out. A doc at one of our concerts taking time out to see Randy and refill a routine medication he was nearly out of. Encouraging notes via text and Facebook.
Last night, we spent our anniversary with the guys in Echelon, a band I used to sing backups for from time to time in the early 2000’s.

Now living in four different states, one of their rare performances brought them within an hour of us. We could have budgeted for a date, a hotel, cards, and flowers, but it wouldn’t have been as fun as seeing these people we love, and in the end, we shared a better dinner than we could have bought and were entertained with songs on guitar, cello, and up to four part harmony. So good!
Also fun for us on this tour is that people seem to like our new songs best – the ones that have not yet been recorded. That’s great for us because we are excited about them too and hope to record them next year.

Five weeks to go on this current adventure and so many people and places to see, BUT before we look too far forward, I am wanting to look back, truly blown away by the way our hosts, audiences, and family members have rallied around us this past month. Thank you!!! We feel rich in all the right ways.
