Hitting the Road in 2016

...but who will drive?

…but who will drive?

A plan is taking shape…

Since my last post, the weather here in Colorado has been very indecisive, flailing between sun and snow, wreaking havoc on this migraine sufferer’s head. As always, I am thankful for the advances in modern medicine that keep me functioning.

Looks like the snow won out!

Looks like the snow won!

In similar flailing fashion, I have spent a lot of time looking at the map and the calendar–vacillating excitedly between ideas, routes, and possibilities. To plan or not to plan? Northwest or Southeast? Why not both?

The end result is a little framework, which may be helpful if you’re one of those who have contacted us with some interest in hosting a house concert. Not only has that been a great encouragement to us, it will be a our absolute lifeline as we endeavor to see and do as much as we can in 2016.

In addition, we have added House Concert FAQ to the website, which you may find helpful. Please visit!

January & February in Ireland and Wales

Here, we will attend the Alarm‘s Gathering, our punk rock concert tradition, where we hope to participate in some pub sing-alongs and impromptu musical fun. Last time, we were able to play at a beautiful church in Belfast, Dublin’s oldest pub, Derry’s Other Voices Festival, and reunite with Chicago’s own Hoot Night host Tom Dunning. This time, we hope to connect with our friends Sammy & Kylie Horner (aka The Sweet Sorrows) and Duke Special – at least as members of their audience. (We’ll be going to Dublin from O’Hare, so just before or after we go, Chicagoans might find us singing and playing in their neighborhood.)

Early April – Northern California and Pacific Northwest

In early spring, we’re headed up the west coast from San Jose to Portland (and maybe Seattle). If you’re anywhere between Denver and the West Coast, or between these two locations, consider having us over sing for you and your friends!

North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee…talk to us!

We are excited to see old touring buddy Jerry Chapman, a staple of the Carolina scene and to play some music with him and others. Routing to and from this area of the country is up in the air. We might be talked into driving through your state!

June – Texas and Mexico(?)

Excited to play for some friends in Dallas, and hoping to book a few more house concerts in Texas. Let us know if you have some ideas for this HUGE state. Afterwards, we are considering a trip to Mexico to help some friends build a home through Casas por Cristo. I will be learning more about this opportunity this week, and if it comes through, we will keep you up to date here on the blog.

July – Illinois and the Midwest

Ohio, Pennsylvania??

Late Summer, Fall and Beyond

If we haven’t starved to death, we’ll be scaling down to two backpacks and a small guitar and taking our act international.

WE NEED YOU!!! Please email us or comment with invitations, ideas, travel tips and dares.
