Another Ramble
Since we proposed that 2016 be a year of music, travel, and service, most of what has happened has fallen into the travel category, with some music just for fun.
It has been a month today since Randy’s last day at the sheriff’s department and we have used the time to decompress, plan, and enjoy a bit of vacation. We’ve also taken care of a few necessary tasks and said yes when people have invited us to sing and play.
Here’s a quick catch-up:
- We road tripped through Nebraska and Iowa in a Budget moving truck, landing in the Chicago area for a week, where we left most of our belongings in a family member’s basement for an undetermined period of time.
- Hiked from Bray to Greystones, Ireland with our friends Kelly from Kansas City and Mark from Norwich, England.
- While in Dublin, of course we stopped in at Brazen Head, where Gary, the bartender, said hello with a hug and the band even remembered us from a couple years ago inviting us up to do four songs.
- Reconnected with many friends, and performed a few songs in Llandudno, Wales alongside Matt Peach, Andrew Dawes and Trond Lysaanes at the Gathering, where we also enjoyed seeing the Alarm perform. What a show!
- Sent tracks for Randy’s project Spiderfence off for mixing and mastering. Pre-sales are available at bandcamp.spiderfence.com and the official release date is February 29, 2016.
